Frequently asked questions

GENERAL Questions

1Are you going to make new movie clips?
Movie clip production is ongoing, it's a very expensive and time consuming process but we will continuously update the storefront with new movie clip selections as we grow.
2How often will new movie clips be released?
We are working as hard as we can to develop as many new movie clips as possible, it's very expensive to produce these small movies and we hope to get more content creators on board to produce more movie clips as we grow. We will continue to expand the storefront offering.
3How many movie clips are free?
There will always be a percentage of the movie clips available for free, but in order for us to continue making new clips we will have to charge for others to be able to cover the production costs of the movie clips.
4Are you going to make MovieRide FX clips for girls?
We are currently developing a MovieRide FX app for little girls, with appropriate content and are also working towards a December 2013 launch on Google Play.
5Can the movie clips be longer?
The current mobile device technology has limited processing power. The more powerful the devices become the longer we'll be able to make our clips.
6Can the processing time be faster?
We are currently limited to the processing power of the devices themselves. The more powerful the devices become the faster or quicker the processing time will be.

SUPPORT Questions

1On Android, why does MovieRide FX crash on the processing screen?
If you experience this problem, it could be that your device manufacturer has set a limit to the amount of memory allocated to each app. MovieRide FX requires a fairly substantial amount of memory for processing and it could be more than your device allows by default. Newer devices tend to have more memory and the limit set by the manufacturers for individual apps tend to be higher. It is possible to change this setting directly on your device (called the "heap size") but requires a fair bit of technical understanding and it could potentially cause your device to behave strangely or even stop working altogether. We're continuing to improve MovieRide FX to use at little memory as possible. If you continue to experience this problem please email support with your device make and model and tell us that you experience a crash on the processing screen.
2On Android, why does MovieRide FX crash on the camera screen?
MovieRide FX works best with certain frame rates and video resolutions. In order to get a good result MovieRide FX tries to get your device camera to use optimal settings but since every Android device has a unique camera hardware implementation it's difficult for us to test on every device and find settings that will work for you camera. If you experience this problem please email support with your device make and model saying that you experience a crash on the camera screen and any error messages that you might see.
3Why does the video of my actor look "choppy" or bad?
MoveiRide FX will fall back on to lower frame rate settings if it can't get your camera to work with the optimal frame rate settings and so you might have a very low frame rate coming from your camera which would result in your video not looking smooth in relation to the background movie clip. You should always try to use MovieRide FX under good lighting conditions with lots of strong light optimally in daylight or in daylight shade. Using it indoors or at night under lower lighting conditions could cause your camera to drop the frame rate in order to accommodate the low light situation. You can also use the flash setting on the camera screen in (which should activate by default under low light in "torch mode") if you have one, but not all devices have a flash or support the "torch mode" (continuous flash) mode. For optimal results you should experiment with the lighting settings for each movie clip. Look at where the light source comes from in the background clip and where the shadows fall and try to light your actor using light sources coming from those same directions and with similar intensities. Getting a really good match to thee background clip is part of the challenge and part of the fun!
4On Android, there are some devices where the app produces a green flicker where the face should be?
Every Android device has a unique camera hardware implementation, it is difficult for us to test each and every device individually and find settings that will work for each camera. You can really assist us by informing us of any problems. Please email support with your device make and model with a description of the problem and/or send us details of any error messages that you might see.
